Crazy Leg is the English for the Italian bordo pazzo. Yacht sail-racers know what it is: while all the fleet follows the expected evolution of wind, there always is a yacht going right in the opposite direction. Crazy leggers normally fall victims of their delusions, but sometimes they suddenly show up at the windward mark, coming out of nowhere, while the rest of the fleet still climbs upwind.
